Welcome to the Suburban West Area Newcomers - SWAN! SWAN is a non-profit social and recreational group established to welcome newcomers to all encompassing western suburbs of Minneapolis which includes but is not limited to the following cities; Robbinsdale, Crystal, Golden Valley, Hopkins, Maple Grove, Plymouth, Medina, Minnetonka, Eden Prairie, Excelsior, Chaska, and Chanhassen. We currently have over 100 members and are growing every day. If you are new to the area and are interested in meeting new people, SWAN is the answer. Our goal is to provide you with social opportunities from single and couple events, to interesting and fun group activities. Our activities include a wide variety of daytime and evening activities, such as bridge, book club, golf, playgroup, game night, explore Minnesota and many more. New groups form as interests change and the need arises. Special events are also held and may be formal or casual. You can participate in as many or as few groups as you wish. Each member receives a monthly newsletter with current information on each activity, a calendar of events, a registration form for the luncheon, letter from the president, birthday wishes and new member updates. A directory, listing each member with all contact info, is published in September and is distributed free to all members.
